I built this because I couldn't sleep.
I've run AI generation platforms for a few years now. Giving people the power to make whatever they can imagine is a genuinely wonderful thing to hand someone. It is also the thing that keeps you up at night.
Because you don't know what they're making. Not really. You have a keyword filter that flags half your users for typing "girl" or "25 years old", and a team overseas working through a queue that nobody could ever finish. And underneath that, the quiet dread that the one prompt that matters is going straight through, and that you'll find out about it from a payment processor, a journalist, or the police. You are the platform. It's your name on it.
Then this year a genuinely new kind of model arrived: not a bigger keyword list, not another chatbot asked to guess, but a system built to make calibrated decisions in about a hundred milliseconds, that reads a prompt for what it actually means in any language. I ran ten weeks of my own moderation queue through it. It let the adults be adults, cleared most of the queue in a second, and found the prompts my filter had been letting through. I sat there watching it work and knew the game had changed. That was the night I decided to build Vindex on top of it.
Vindex is Latin for defender. It stands at the door of your app and checks every prompt against a policy you can read, before anything is rendered. Adults do what adults do. Minors are never, under any policy, on any plan, in any language. And when something is stopped or held, you know exactly what happened and why.
It's the thing I wish I'd had. It helps me sleep. I hope it helps you too.
What we promise
- Your policy, written where your whole team can read it.
- One line that never moves, on every plan.
- Every decision explained. Nothing rendered unchecked.
- We never store your images. We screen text, before anything exists.
